Atmos Energy Corporation

Atmos Energy Corporation and its subsidiaries are engaged primarily in the natural gas utility business as well as other natural gas nonutility businesses. As of September 30, 2004 we distributed natural gas through sales and transportation arrangements to approximately 1.7 million residential, commercial, public authority and industrial customers through our six regulated utility divisions, which covered service areas in 12 states. Our primary service areas are located in Colorado, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas. We have more limited service areas in Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Virginia. In addition, we transport natural gas for others through our distribution system. Through our nonutility businesses, we provide natural gas management and marketing services to municipalities, other local gas distribution companies and industrial customers in 18 states.
