CONSUMERS ENERGY CO

CMS Energy was formed in Michigan in 1987 and is an energy holding company operating through subsidiaries in the United States and in selected markets around the world. Its two principal subsidiaries are Consumers and Enterprises. Consumers is a public utility that provides natural gas and/or electricity to almost 6.5 million of Michigan's 10 million residents and serves customers in all 68 of the state's Lower Peninsula counties. Enterprises, through various subsidiaries and affiliates, is engaged in diversified energy businesses in the United States and in selected international markets. CMS Energy's consolidated operating revenue was $6.288 billion in 2005, $5.472 billion in 2004 and $5.513 billion in 2003.
