Florida Public Utilities Company Florida Public Utilities Company (FPU) was incorporated on March 6, 1924 and reincorporated on April 29, 1925 under the 1925 Florida Corporation Law. We provide natural gas, electricity and propane gas to residential, commercial and industrial customers in Florida. We do not produce energy and are not a generating utility. Our regulated segments sell natural gas and electricity to approximately 81,000 customers, and our unregulated segment sells propane through a wholly owned subsidiary, Flo-Gas Corporation, to approximately 13,000 customers. We also sell merchandise and other service related products on a limited basis as a complement to the natural and propane gas segments. Our three primary business segments are aligned with our products and are natural gas, electric and propane gas. The Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC) regulates the natural gas and electric segments.
